Season Championships on the Line for All Classes This Coming Friday Night

RANSOMVILLE, NY (August 27, 2024) This coming Friday night is the final points night of the season for all classes, including the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman, KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and the Kevins Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman. To cap off the night, DNA Towing and DNA Derby Productions presents the $700 to win Fall Brawl Demolition Derby.

The Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds points chase is a three-man race between Mat Williamson, Gary Lindberg, and Ryan Susice. Williamson leads Lindberg by just 10 points and has a 28-point advantage over Susice. For Susice to win the title, both Williamson and Lindberg would have to finish 13th or worse. If Williamson finishes ahead of Lindberg, Williamson will win his fourth consecutive divisional title. Lindberg would win the title by winning the race and having Williamson finish fifth or worse.

In the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman, Cody McPherson from St. Catharines, Ontario has a 54-point advantage over Wilson’s Cam Tuttle, and 74-point lead over Niagara Falls, NY driver Dave Conant. McPherson is eying his first Ransomville title since 2015, when he was a co-champion with James Friesen.

Coming into the regular season points finale for the full-fender KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, Sanborn, NY’s Brandon Sherwood has a slim 10-point advantage over Stanley, NY’s Mike Welch. Sherwood has three wins, with six top five and six top ten finishes this season. Welch has a pair of Ransomville wins to his credit, to go along with his six top five, and six top ten finishes. Sherwood would have to finish in front of Welch to claim the track championship. If Welch wins the race, Welch could win the title if Sherwood finishes fifth or worse. Sherwood could still win the title even with a Welch win, by finishing third or better.

The Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stock points title chase comes down between the reigning track champion, Ryan Plante, multi-time track champion Cole Susice, and second-generation driver Matt Hornquist. Plante leads Susice by 30 points and has a 47-point cushion over Hornquist. If Susice wins the race, Plante will need to finish 13th or better to win the title. Plante would have to finish 15th or worse to lose the title to Susice, with a Cole Susice win. Hornquist could take second away from Susice, by finishing eight positions ahead of Susice.

Nigel Pendykoski from Niagara Falls, Ontario leads Tyler Foster from Pendleton by 42 points entering the final Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman. It is possible for Foster to win the title, but he would need a lot of help. If Pendykoski finishes in front of Foster, then he will be crowned the divisional champion.

DNA Derby Productions and DNA Towing & Recovery will be presenting the Fall Brawl Demolition Derby at the conclusion of the racing action. The demo will be paying $700 to win, $500 for second, $300 for third, plus the $250 Mad Dog award. The Fall Brawl Demolition Derby is open to any and all vehicles ½ ton rating and under. Rules are available by going to the DNA Derby Productions Facebook page.

Racing on August 30th will get underway at 7:15pm, with grandstand gates opening at 6pm, and pit gates will open at 5pm. Admission prices are available by going to www.ransomvillespeedway.com For more information, follow us on social media and check the website at www.ransomvillespeedway.com
