Dave Conant and Ryan Susice Score Emotional Wins at Ransomville Speedway
RANSOMVILLE, NY (June 28, 2024) Dave Conant from Niagara Falls, NY was victorious in the 2nd Annual Kyle Inman Tribute race for the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman at the Ransomville Speedway Friday night. For Conant, it was his first win at The Big R in over seven years. Ryan Susice from Wilson, NY scored a very emotional win in the Krown Undercoating 358 Modified feature. Nigel Pendykoski from Niagara Falls, Ontario won the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman feature. Cole Susice from Ransomville, NY won his third Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks feature of the season. Stirling Lubricants and Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) presented the racing action.
Cameron Tuttle and Dave Conant brought the field of Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman to the green flag for the 2nd Annual Kyle Inman Tribute, with Tuttle showing the way. Adam Hilton would challenge Conant for second on lap three, but Conant would answer the early challenges. Cody McPherson started ninth on the grid and by lap eight, was up to fourth place. McPherson would pass Adam Hilton for third place on lap 13, as Conant and Tuttle battled for the lead while in lap traffic. Conant would take over the lead on lap 14. While the field was negotiating lap traffic, Brett Senek would battle for positions inside the top 10 with Derek Wagner and Jordan Moden. The caution would come out on lap 20, as Tyler Moore spun in turn two. On the restart, McPherson would challenge Tuttle and Conant for the lead, with McPherson taking over second on lap 24. Dave Conant would hold off Tuttle and McPherson to secure the victory, his first at Ransomville since September of 2016.
Brad Rouse and Ryan Susice were on the front row for the Krown Undercoating 358 Modified feature, with Rouse in the lead ahead of Susice, Mat Williamson, Erick Rudolph, and CJ Castelletti. Noah Walker would pass Castelletti to take over fifth on lap three. Ryan Susice would take over the lead from Rouse on lap four. Gary Lindberg would close in on Walker for fifth place on lap eight, just as Williamson would take over second from Rouse. Rudolph would pass Rouse on lap nine to take over third place. Susice would encounter lap traffic on lap 13, allowing Williamson and Rudolph to start to close in on the race leader. Williamson would close in on Susice for the lead in the late going, but “The Renegade” would score the feature win, his first in over two years, and first after the birth of son Axton.
Dave Dussault and John Carlson were on the front row for Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks feature event, with Carlson in the lead. Cole Susice would take over second on lap three and would go after race leader Carlson. Matt Hornquist, Susice, and Carlson would go three-wide for the lead following a early-race restart to take the lead away on lap four. Brandon Close would battle with Carlson for third place and would complete the pass on lap seven. Hornquist would slow on the track, allowing Susice to take over the lead on lap 11. The caution would come out on lap 12 as a tire came off Dave Dussault’s car. Susice would hold off the field over the final three laps to score his third feature win.
Guy Steffen and Nigel Pendykoski brought the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman to the green flag for their 15-lap feature event, with Pendykoski in the lead ahead of Guy Steffen and Tyler Foster. Steffen and Foster would battle throughout the main event, as Pendykoski would pull away from the field. Foster would make his move with less than five remaining to take over second place from Steffen. Race leader Pendykoski would pull away from the field to earn his sixth win of the season.
Ransomville Speedway is back in action on Friday, July 26th for Christmas in July, featuring the Chris Moore Memorial for the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman, plus the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, and the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman. Parkhill Tree Service will be presenting the racing action. Pit gates will open at 5pm, grandstands open at 6pm, and racing will get underway at 7:15pm.
