Richard Wilkinson Mini Stock Memorial and Kids Rides This Friday Night
RANSOMVILLE, NY (July 25, 2022) The Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks will be featured this Friday night for the annual Richard Wilkinson Memorial. Jetport Restaurant, Niagara Metals, and Tim Hortons will present the program that will also feature the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, Ki Po Motors Street Stocks, and Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman. The popular Kids Rides will also be part of the show.
Passing away at the age of 50 in 2012, Richard “Ricky” Wilkinson could be seen every Friday night watching the action at the Big R. He was an avid race fan and was actively involved in all aspects of racing throughout his life. His brother-in-law, Tim Phillips has been a longtime supporter of racing at Ransomville. Tim’s son Kyle currently runs a 360 Sprint Car throughout the region.
All kids in attendance will have the chance to get a ride in a racecar around the track. Kids Rides will take place before the start of the 7:15 pm racing program.
The JetPort Restaurant & Lounge is operated by the Richner family, which has been involved in racing at the “Big R” for decades. The family’s current racing operation spans multiple generations with Ricky Richner competing in the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds with his son, Kyle, racing in the Sportsman division. During these current times, the JetPort Restaurant is open beginning at 7:30 am serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Located at 7100 Porter Road in Niagara Falls, the JetPort serves delicious, home-cooked food. Dine-in and take-out options are available. Pit gates open at 5 pm, grandstands open at 6 pm, and racing will get underway at 7:15 pm. General admission is $18 for adults, $15 for youth (aged 12-17) and seniors (60+), with kids aged 11 and under admitted FREE. Pit admission is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
