RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (September 1, 2019) - Ransomville Speedway kicks off the month of September this Friday night as the Barker Lions Club & Stirling Lubricants present the Super DIRTCar Sportsman Series, 358 Modified Tour from Pennsylvania plus the Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks and Gippster's Collision Mini Stocks.
This weekend the Super DIRTCar Sportsman Series makes its annual September swing through the Niagara Region starting Friday night at Ransomville to kick off the five race Western Region schedule. The top Sportsman teams from across the region will be on hand Friday to challenge Ransomville's best to try to collect as many points toward the DIRTCar championship. The Super DIRTCar Sportsman will do battle for 50 laps on Friday.
Modified racing continues through the final two weeks of the season at Ransomville starting this Friday as the 358 Modified Tour from Pennsylvania comes to town for the very first time. Modified drivers from the Keystone state will go head-to-head with Ransomville's home track warriors in a 30-lap, $1,500-to-win event.
Ransomville's full-fendered divisions will continue their championship chases as well. The Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stock title is coming down to two-car battle between Cory Sawyer and Pete Stefanski. Both veteran drivers have visited victory lane on four occasions each in 2019, but Sawyer holds a 28 point lead over Stefanski with two points races to go. The rest of the top five spots in Street Stocks points are also up for grabs as third place Anthony Guthrie is ahead of Jaren Israel and Pat Dell by just two points.
The Gippster's Collision Mini Stock championship battle features Cole Susice ahead of Mike Kramarz by 18 points. Kramarz gained ground on Susice this past Friday as he finished second in the feature while Susice placed ninth after going to a back up car following the heats.
Both divisions will crown their champions during King of the Hill weekend on the weekend of September 13-14.
