FIRST RESPONDERS NIGHT THIS FRIDAY AT THE BIG R
RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (May 5, 2019) - Ransomville Speedway hopes to finally wave the green flag on the 2019 season this Friday night (May 10) as Live Edge Brewery presents First Responders Night at the “Big R”. Back-to-back rain outs for the first two events have delayed the opening of a new season of Friday night DIRTCar racing.
The cancellation of this past Friday’s event has set up jam packed night for Ransomville’s full-fendered divisions. Both the Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks and Gippster’s Collision Mini Stocks have special series races on tap. The Street Stocks will take part in the postponed opening round of the Can-Am Thunder Stock Challenge against the Thunder Stocks from Humberstone Speedway. The Street Stock feature will be 30 laps with $500 up for grabs to the winner.
The Mini Stocks will kickoff the brand new Mini Stock Super Series as they will go head-to-head against drivers from Genesee Speedway in Batavia. The eight-race series gets going this weekend with races at both facilities with the action heading east across the NYS Thruway to Batavia on Saturday.
Ransomville’s open-wheeled divisions, the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman and Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman, will also be in action on Friday. While this past Friday’s action was rained out at the “Big R”, a couple of Ransomville open-wheeled regulars did find victory lane this weekend. Mat Williamson picked up a Modified win at Merrittville Speedway on Saturday, while Sportsman driver Cameron Tuttle scored his first ever win at Genesee.
Speedway officials have rolled over the bonus for a drum of VP Racing Fuel to the drivers that record the fastest lap in the Modified and Sportsman features after last Friday’s rain out. One random driver in each class will also win a new Hoosier Racing Tire.
This Friday is First Responders Night at the “Big R”. All first responders will receive free general admission with valid ID. It is also Mother’s Day weekend, and all moms will receive a special gift when they come through the front gate.
