LARRY WOODRUFF TO COMMAND STARTER'S STAND AT "BIG R"
RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (April 23, 2019) - Ransomville Speedway is honored to have veteran racing official Larry Woodruff join its staff as the Chief Starter for the 2019 season.
Woodruff brings with him over 20 years of experience in motorsports. He has served as a starter at a number of area motorsports facilities, including Wyoming County International Speedway, Lancaster Speedway, Lake Erie Speedway, Spencer Speedway and the Race of Champions Modified Series. He has also been a Race Director at Lancaster and with the Race of Champions Super Stock Series.
When it comes to dirt racing, Woodruff has worked extensively with World Racing Group (WRG) and the Super DIRTCar Series, where he is the Pit Steward for the Big Blocks. He has flagged at Super DIRT Week at both Syracuse and Oswego and the DIRTCar Nationals at Volusia during Speedweeks. Woodruff has also filled in as a starter for the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models.
“I am really excited to be given this opportunity to work at one of the most iconic tracks in all of DIRTCar,” said Woodruff. “Ransomville Speedway is held in very high regard by both fans and competitors from all over the Northeast and Canada. Many thanks to Parm Atwal and Jenn Martin for making it possible for me to be a part of a track where so many greats have raced over the years.”
Woodruff chased his dreams of working with WRG and the Super DIRTCar Series following his retirement from a 30-year career as a beer delivery driver in 2010. He is supported by his wife of 42 years, Madeline, as well as his two daughters and two grandsons.
