11th ANNUAL LABOR NIGHT AT THE BIG R SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 7th
RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (January 24, 2019) - Race fans from all walks of life come together every year at Ransomville Speedway to give back to the United Way of Greater Niagara during the annual Labor Night at the Races. This year the Labor Night at the Races presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY and in conjunction with the AFL/CIO Niagara-Orleans Labor Council will take place on Friday, June 7 at the Big R.
The 11th annual Labor Night race program will feature five divisions of racing, including the return of the Crate Late Models to Ransomville plus the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, Gippster’s Collision Mini Stocks and a non-points Sportsman/Novice Sportsman Shootout.
“We are very proud to be working with Ransomville Speedway once again to host the Labor Night at the Races,” said Jim Briggs, President of the Niagara/Orleans Labor Council and sub director of the United Steel Workers. “The facility provides us with a fun and unique way to raise money for the United Way.”
To date Labor Night has raised over $120,000 for the United Way of Greater Niagara. The event grows every year with more fans taking part of the special pre-race festivities, including a race car display. The Labor Night at the Races is also supported by Maxwell Murphy Attorneys at Law, Lewis & Lewis PC and M&T Bank.
Tickets for the 11th annual Labor Night at the Races can be purchased through Bill Jakobi, labor liaison with the AFL/CIO Niagara-Orleans Labor Council, or at the novelty stand on race nights once the season begins.
